Hyderabad, Sept 18 (UNI) Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) state committee today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh Government must bring in an 'integrated Act' to provide Provident Fund (PF) and minimum wages to labourers working in the unorganized sector.
Addressing a press conference here, CITU State Secretary S Veeraiah said about one crore labourers were working in the unorganized sector without getting PF and minimum wages as per Arjun Sen Gupta Commission report, in the state.
Demanding that the government implement welfare schemes to the labourers as adopted by the West Bengal government, he said the CITU would organise a signature campaign on a demand notice prepared by the CITU which would be submitted to Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
He said the CITU would also launch 'Sramika Samarabheri' from October three to unite the labourers, Mr Veeraiah said the union would lay siege to collectorates and organise 'Chalo Assembly' if the government did not accept their demands in future.
