298 projects sanctioned in 285 days in Raisen
Raisen(MP), Sep 18(UNI) A total of 298 development works costing Rs 209 crore have been sanctioned in 285 days in Raisen district, close to the state capital since Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan became Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
After assuming office on November 29 last year, Mr Chouhan undertook extensive tour of the district on at least 10 occasions, the last being on September 9.
The Chief Minister had laid the foundation stone of many projects and a total of 119 works had already been completed, an official release said.
The sanctioned works include those relating to irrigation, rural roads, drinking water supply, urban development, bridge construction, rural engineering and electricity sub-station. Two mini-health centres and a community health centre have also been inaugurated.
A record number of 157 works costing Rs 23.13 crore were sanctioned during the Chief Minister's Raisen visit on August 25.
Other areas visited by him include Sanchi, Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, Chiklod, Mandideep, Bharkach and Dehgaon.
Under the MP and MLA local area development fund and through public cooperation, as many as 429 works costing Rs 587 lakh were taken up in the districtlast year, while 132 works costing Rs 176 lakh were sanctioned this year, official sources said.
