26 FDI proposals cleared by FIPB

New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) Finance Minister P Chidambaram has approved 26 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) proposals recommended by Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) totalling Rs 992.84 crore.

The proposals were cleared at the FIPB meeting held on September 8, 2006.

These proposals relate to various Ministries and Departments.

These are Chemicals and Petro-chemicals, Commerce, Information and Broadcasting, Industrial Policy and Promotion, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Telecommunications, Urban Development, Economic Affairs and Tourism.

The major investment proposals pertain to the sectors of Industry, Chemicals and Petro-chemicals, Petroleum&Natural Gas.
