Uma's party to form alliance with like-minded parties
Jalandhar, Sep 17 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janshakti Party is ready for seat adjustments with like minded non-BJP, non-Congress parties for the coming assembly elections in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, party senior vice president Sanghpriya Gautam said.
Talking to reporters here today, Mr Gautam said his party would contest all seats in the above three states due to go to polls by February next year.
However, if some like minded non-BJP and non-Congress party showed interest in forging seat sharing adjustments, then the party would consider the proposal, he added.
Mr Gautam said he expected adjustment with Janata Dal(U) and Apna Dal in Uttar Pradesh while seat sharing agreement is possible with Uttarakhand Dal in Uttaranchal.
If former Union Minister Chaudhary Ajit Singh's Rastriya Lok Dal(RLD) stayed away from Congress, then similar adjustment might take place with his party too in UP, he added.
In Punjab, his party would contest all seats on its own as it would never forge an agreement with Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) already has an alliance with BJP.
Mr Gautam said his party would do its best to emerge stronger in all assembly segments as it required to bag minimum four per cent of the polled votes for getting the status of a national party.
