Soccer-Ballack sent off for Chelsea

LONDON, Sep 17 (Reuters) Germany's World Cup captain Michael Ballack was sent off for Chelsea after stamping on an opponent in Sunday's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Ballack, playing only his only his fifth game for his new club since a close season move from Bayern Munich, was dismissed in the 51st minute for bringing his boot down on the thigh of Liverpool's Mali international midfielder Momo Sissoko.
