Ritwik, Joshna emerge champions at Golecha Squash
Jaipur, Sep 17 (UNI) India's top player Ritwik Bhattacharya thrashed Gaurav Nandrajog to win the Harish Chandra Golecha Memorial Squash Championship men's title at the Jaipur club late last night here.
National Champion Joshna Chinappa routed local star Surbhi Misra in women's section final to lift the title.
Ritwik defeated Gaurav Nandrajog 9-1, 9-2, 9-4 to win a cash prize of Rs 75,000. The champion had lost against Nandrajog last year in the same tournament final while also lost in national championship's semi-final recently in New Delhi.
Joshna whipped Surbhi 9-1, 9-2, 9-4 clinched the women's section title. She got Rs 30,000 for this title winning.
Local lad Parth Sharma saw tough fight against Naresh Kumar of Chennai in the under-19 final defeating by 9-5, 4-9, 9-2, 6-9, 10-8.
He takes 102 minutes defeat Naresh.
Surbhi Misra triumphed Shivangi Paranjpe in a struggling match by 9-5, 8-10, 9-10, 9-5, 9-3 to win also a cash prize of Rs 15,000.
Karan Tharyamal prevailed over Deepak Misra 9-0, 10-8, 9-5 in under-13 (boys section), Ravi Dixit defeated Karan Malik 10-8, 2-9, 9-7, 9-4 in under-15 (boys section) while Cyril Kuhn beat Ravi Dixit 9-2, 6-9, 9-1, 10-8 to grab the under-17 boys category title.
Sports Minister Yunus Khan gave away the prizes to the winners and losers.
