Police clueless on seizure of"Golden Uranium":Eight arrested
Berhampur, Sep 17 (UNI) Police have sent the sample of ''golden uranium,'' seized from the possession of eight people arrested in Ganjam district, to the Bhaba Atomic Research centre for test.
About 500 gram of golden uranium was seized from the possesion of eight arersted people on Thursday from two different places in the district.
Ganjam Circle Inspector Girija Shankar Rath said that on being interrogated they said the material was procured from a mine in Nayagarh district.
They also claimed that with some chemicals the materials would be converted into gold. The police, being clueless on the nature of the seized material, sent the sample to the Bhava Atomic Research Centre(BARC) and also the state's Forensic Laboratory for examination.
