One naxal killed, two feared dead in Jagdalpur
Jagdalpur, Sep 17 (UNI) A naxal was killed, while two were feared dead in a police encounter at Kodakhedi forest in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district, police said today.
Inspector General of Police (IG) P J Langkumar told UNI here that the body of slain naxal, identified as Vikas, was recovered, while the bodies of other naxals were reportedly taken away by their group.
The deceased ultra was the chief of Maharashtra's Gadh Chirauli area, Mr Langkumar said.
A pool of blood on the spot indicated five-six naxals had sustained injuries.
A diary, containing details in Telugu language, was seized from the deceased ultra.
A rifle and 16 cartridges were seized from the spot.
In a separate incident, two naxals were injured during a police encounter at Manded area in Dantewara district.
