Nothing short of Telangana, says TRS

Hyderabad, Sep 17: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) today reiterated it will accept nothing short of a separate Telangana state.

Speaking on the occasion of Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations at the party office here, TRS Leader and Former Union Minister A Narendra called upon the people of Telangana to 'join the relentless fight for bifurcation of the state to emancipate the people from the domination of Andhras.' At the main function organised by the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee at 'Gandhi Bhavan,' PCC President K Keshava Rao unfurled the national flag and recalled the sacrifices made by those who fought against the erstwhile Nizam.

The Left Parties also celebrated the day. While CPI Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Chandrappan and Party State Secretary K Narayana took in the party programme, CPI(M) Leader U Patnaik and State Secretary B V Raghavulu took part in the celebrations organised by the party.

Home Minister K Jana Reddy, who took part in the programme organised by the CPI, also inaugurated a library.

Mr Reddy said the government would favourably consider the CPI's demand for a suitable monument to remember the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives during the liberation struggle.
