Monsoon weakens in HP no rains

Shimla, Sep 17 (UNI) Monsoon is beginning to weaken over Himachal Pradesh with almost all mid and lower hills of the state receiving no rain or snowfall for the second day today, the met office said.

Almost all places in the state had a bright and a sunny morning in the day though the sun remained behind clouds since afternoon at several places with no part of the state receiving rains during the last 24 hrs.

The met office said with the sun shining brightly in the state for the second day, the day and night temperatures were rising in lower hills, while temperatures continue to plummet in mid and high altitude areas of the state.

The sky over Shimla and other adjoining areas was clear to begin with in the morning before being covered by clouds in the latter half of the day.

Even though the sky remained under cloud cover for the major part of the day, the day temperature in the state capital rose to 23.1 degree, while Sundernagar in Mandi district and Bhuntar in Kullu recorded day temperatures of 31.7 and 31.6 degree Celsius respectively.

The met office said Shimla recorded a night temperature of 14, while Bhuntar and Sundernagar recorded minimum temperatures of 15.4 and 19.1 degrees.

Kalpa in Kinnuar district recorded a day temperature of 23.4 degree and a night temperature of 7.9 degree Celsius, the met office said.

The met office has predicted light to moderate rains at isolated places in the state in the next 24 hrs.
