Mumbai, Sep 17 (UNI) A Norwegian ship carrying 8,000 tonnes of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) belonging to Atlantics Shipping Corporation has been stuck inside the Ratnagiri Harbour in the Konkan region near here since September 14.

The ship ''Cuebride'' has been hired by Bharat Petroleum which supplies LPG to Finolex Industries.

According to sources, the ship has been stuck in ''soft mud'' and efforts are on to salvage the vessel.

''Two tugs have already left from Mumbai to salvage the vessel and will be reaching the spot by this evening. But, since there is high tide the ship will be pulled to safety by tomorrow morning,'' Coast Guard sources said.

District officials, local police and port officials are taking all the safety measures. The ship, being an LPG carrier has all safety mechanisms on board itself, sources added.
