JIPMER employees continue strike, services affected
Pondicherry, Sep 17 (UNI) Medical services in the Centrally- administered JIPMER hospital here continued to be affected as the strike by the employees entered the tenth day today.
The employees were on an indefinite strike to protest the move to convert JIPMER into an autonomous institution for which the Centre had already given it's approval.
Medical services are being provided to the patients coming to the casualty with the help of a few staff who joined duty two days ago. However, majority of the employees are on strike and staging demonstrtion in front of the hospital.
Meanwhile, the JIPMER administration continued to conduct walk-in interviews for the third day today to select para-medical staff on a temperory basis to ensure medical service.
