Jeev finises tied 14th in ANA Open
Sapporo, Sep 17 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh finally arrested the slide but even his final round of 69 was enough to earn a place in the top-10 and the Indian finished tied 14th at the ANA Open here today.
The UBS Asian Tour Order of Merit leader Jeev had kicked off his campaign at the Sapporo Golf Club's Wattsu Course with a sedate round of 68 but stuttered to 71 in the second, returned 72 in the third before finally showing some semblance of form and carding two-under 69 today for a four-day total of five-under 279.
Tomohiro Kondo (69) carded an identical round today to walk away with the trophy at 10-under 274.
Jeev had an average front nine with a dropped shot in the second which he atoned for picking up a shot on the fifth to comlpete his halfway journey.
On his way back, Jeev again had a poor start, dropping a bogey on the 11th but he fired a trio of birdies over the next six holes -- on 12th, 15th and 17th -- to expiate the setback and parred the final hole to round off his day.
The Indian got richer by 1,485,000 yen for his show.
