Bhopal, Sep 17 (UNI) Even as pressure mounted on Pope Benedict to issue a personal apology in the wake of his comments about Islam sparking Muslim fury across the world, the Jamiat Ulema today announced it would continue its protests.

''The objectionable remarks are condemnable. The Muslim community has nothing against Christians but their spiritual leader's statement was irresponsible and intolerable,'' Noor Ullah Yusufzai, the organisation's Madhya Pradesh spokesman told mediapersons here.

A Jamiat Ulema meeting would be convened soon and programmes finalised in this regard.
