Inspector and assistant die in road mishap

Faridabad, Sep 17 (UNI) Excise and Taxation Department Inspector Gajender Goel and his assistant were crushed to death by a truck on the National Highway while they were on duty at the check-post, police said today.

Gajender and his assistant were standing near Hanuman Mandir on National Highway to check vehicles when a truck crushed them to death after the driver lost control over the vehicle, police said.

An FIR was lodged with the Central Police Station against the driver and the bodies were sent for the post-mortem examinations.

Investigations are on, police added.
