CPI (M) opposes October Four Karnataka Bandh on Border issue

Bangalore, Sept 17 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist), Karnataka State Committee today opposed the state wide Bandh call given by various Kannada organisations on Maharashtra-Karnataka border issue on October Four.

In a statement here CPI(M) Secretariat Member S Y Gurushanth said that "provoking the emotional issues like border and language would affect the unity of the people." "Border dispute is pending in several States. When several incidents are taking place which affect the unit and integrity of the country, it is necessary to settle the issue through dialogue.

CPI (M) appeals to the people to protect peace and harmony", he added.
