Body Building team for Asian Games announced

Jalandhar, Sep 17 (UNI) Indian Body Building Federation (IBBF) has announced a seven-member Indian team for the Asian Games scheduled to be held in Doha, Qatar later this year.

The team was announced by the selection committee on the basis of final selection trials held here today, IBBF general secretary GS Nayak said.

With three players, the Services body builders secured the maximum representation in the team followed by Punab(2) and Railways and Uttar Pradesh(One each).

The team includes TV Pauly(Services) and S Kumra Nandan (Railway) (60 kg), Daljit Singh (Punjab) (65 kg), Parvesh Kumar (Punjab) (70 kg), Vatinder Pawar (Uttar Pradesh) (75 kg), EG Baiju (Services) (80 kg) and Parshad Kumar (Services) (85 kg).

Amarjeet Mailik(Delhi) will be the team manager and Dr Randhir Hastir(Punjab) will be the team coach.

Besides this, GS Nayak(Orissa) has been invited as Referee or judge in the games.

Before leaving for Doha Qatar, the team would undergo a two month coaching camp at National Institute of Body Building at Cheheru on the outskirts of Jalandhar from October one.
