8 killed, 4 hurt in mishaps

Chennai, Sep 17 (UNI) Eight people, including three priests of the Lord Subramanya Swamy Temple at Virudhunagar District, were killed and four injured in two separate accidents in Tamil Nadu today.

Reports received here said the priests were returning to Virudhunagar after a tour of Courtallam when a car collided with a jeep at Kamrapatti Village in the district.

The priests and the car driver were killed on the spot while four persons who sustained injuries, were admitted to a hospital.

In the second incident, four people, including a women, were killed, when they were proceeding to Thakkalai to attend a function.

The accident occurred when a van collided with a bus.
