4 Govt staff suspended for bogus ration cards in AP

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 17 (UNI) West Godavari Collector Lav Agarwal has suspended four persons in connection with issue of bogus ration cards in Kalla Mandal of the district.

The action follows an inquiry by Joint Collector Durgadas who found Revenue Officials B V R K Sinha, S K Saleem, Venkateswara Rao and MSN Appa Rao responsible for irregularities in the issue of the bogus ration cards.

In his report, the joint collector said the revenue personnel were involved in preparing bogus ration cards in connivance with the sub-contractor entrusted with the work of issuing the cards.

Besides, the administration had filed criminal cases against Sub Contractor B Radhakrishna and Technical Assistants M Ramesh, N Pahni Kumar, N Rambabu, P Nagaraju, Srinivas, Anji and Kiran.

A showcause notice had been issued to Tera, a software company which sub-contracted the work to Radhakrishna.The Collector appointed Narsapuram RDO to inquire into the matter.
