Supplyco begins paddy procurement in Kuttanand

Alappuzha, Sep 16 (UNI) The paddy procurement by the state government began at Nedumudi in Kuttanad in the district today.

The government had already declared that it would directly procure paddy from farmers at Rs 850 per quintal as against Rs 750 last year.

The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) is the agency entrusted for the procurement. It has deputed ten staff in Kuttanad after providing special training to supervise the procurement.
