Sugar prices recover on increase of fresh demand

Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices recoverd on increase of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today said.

Sugar of small and medium grades rose by Rs 13 each per quintal, on reduced stocks supply.

Sugar of ex-mill small and medium grades hiked by Rs 15 and Rs 20 per quintal respectively on better buying support.

Following were the spot sugar wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,771/1,801, medium grade: Rs 1,799/1,841.

Ex-mill: small grade: Rs 1,750/1,765, medium grade: Rs 1,780/1,815.
