Pak, B'desh, China students attend Jamia's fest
New Delhi, Sep 16: Students from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Singapore and China are participating in Jamia Millia Islamia's annual technical festival-- ENCOMIUM -- which commenced today.
Approximately 1000 students, including those from technical colleges from across the country, are participating in the two-day sixth edition of the technical extravaganza, organised by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Student Branch, Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
The International Board of IEEE has recently awarded the JMI branch ''The Best Student Branch'' in R10 countries which includes the entire Indian sub-continent besides China, Japan and other Asian countries.
It was also awarded the best ''Best WIE (Women in Engineering) branch in the world" for 2005 and the Larry K Wilson award for outstanding activities, event and technical festivals organized by IEEE at JMI.
The festival has twelve events at its core, including Rationale -- the paper presentation, Enigma-- the Quizzing affair, Eniac 1-- on the spot programming contest, Eniac 2 -- Pre designed software contest, Encolympics-- Network Gaming contest and Entelechy - on the spot hardware design and software simulation contest.
