Sandeep Nakai elected AIPS Hockey Commission Chairman

Monchengladbach, Sep 16 (UNI) Sandeep Nakai of India was today elected Chairman of the AIPS Hockey Commission, representing world hockey journalists at the quadrennial elections held on the sidelines of the ongoing World Cup.

Nakai was unanimously elevated from the secretary's position, which he occupied for the past four years, while compatriot Anand Philar was elected to the Executive Committee.

New Delhi-based Nakai is a sports scribe with the Associated Press, while Philar is a Chennai-based hockey writer.

United Kingdom's Bill Colwill was elected as the Vice-Chairman and Netherlands' Jeroen van Bergen as the Secretary.

The other members of the Executive Committee are Patrick Rowley of the United Kingdom and Poland's Andrzej Kuczynski.
