Renovatio work of protected monuments starts in J and K
Srinagar, Sep 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has started renovation work on protected monuments in the state, Secretary Cultural Academy Dr Masoodi said.
He said the renovation work is in progress on 30 protected monuments including 15 works in Srinagar and 15 in Jammu province under Archive department. Dr Masoodi said in order to promote cultural activities, various measures to modernize Music and Fine Art institutions in Srinagar and Jammu have been initiated where from bachelor degrees are being awarded to candidates.
He said the academy brings out 13 publications a month in all leading languages of the state.
A revenue of Rs 30 lakh has been earned by sale of publications, rent and display of other cultural activities till date during the current year.
Presently there are 140 government libraries with four lakh books in the state, he added.
