Police ASI sent to jail in a trap case

Bhubaneswar, Sep 16 (UNI) An Assistant Sub Inspector(ASI) of Police was arrested and sent to jail custody today on charges of accepting bribe of Rs.3000 from a bank cashier for execution of warrant.

Vigilance sources said ASI Alekh Chandra Lenka of Kujang Police station was caught red handed while accepting the bribe money from Jogendra Nath Ghadei on September 15 last.

The bribe amount was recovered and seized in presence of witnesses. The ASI was arrested and forwarded to the Court, which remanded him to judicial custody till September 30 next.
