PDP launches membership campaign in Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah, Sep 16 (UNI) A massive membership drive of People's Democratic Party (PDP), a partner in ruling coalition in Jammu and Kashmir, was launched here at Bhaderwah under the leadership of its district president Mujeeb Ali Sheikh.

Party sources, while talking to UNI, said a meeting of PDP workers was held under the chairmanship of Mr Sheikh and claimed that hundreds of new workers have joined the party.

During the meeting, the people highlighted the problems being faced them in the rural areas like water, electricity and communication.

Mr Sheikh gave assurance to people that the problems will be taken up with the party leadership and the higher authorities.

He urged that the government to announce the programmes under which job opportunities could be provided to unemployed youth of the area.

He further said that due to recent heavy rainfall and floods, 90 per cent crops have been damaged in rural area and demanded immediate relief for the affected people.
