Pawar rubbishes reports of link-up with Telgi

Dehra Dun, Sep 16 (UNI) Rubbishing media reports about his association with multi-crore stamp paper scam accused Abdul Karim Telgi, Union Agriculture Minister and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar today said he had no connection whatsoever with the scamster.

''The electronic media have to run 24-hour news channel and therefore they are after some or the other sensational story,'' he said, adding, ''This showed the increasing interest of the media in criminal cases.'' He was addressing a press conference here shortly before the Extended Working Committee meeting of the party during the two-day National Convention here.

''Why should I reply to what a criminal has said about me?'' Mr Pawar shot back when he was aksed to comment on the confession made by Telgi during a narco analysis test.
