Muslim MPs demand CBI inquiry into Mumbai, Malegaon blasts

Mumbai, Sept 16 (UNI) Muslim MPs from different political parties today demanded a CBI inquiry into the Mumbai, Malegaon and Nanded blasts.

About Eight Muslim MPs, Abu Asim Azmi, Shahid Siddique, (SP) Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM), Tahir Khan, Shahid Akhlaq (BSP), Abdul Wahab (Muslim league), Mahmood Madani (RLD), and Obaidullah Azmi (Cong) called on Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and submitted a memorandum to him.

Mr Azmi, who hails from Mumbai, but who got elected to the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh, said that the police were 'wrongfully' targetting the Muslim community in these blasts, and the CBI should conduct the investigation of into the Mumbai, Malegaon and Nanded blasts.

Mr Azmi and other MPs also narrated the alleged incidents of highhandedness of the police against the Minority communities in connection with these incidents.
