'Modi govt making a mockery of democracy in Guj Assembly'

Ahmedabad, Sep 16 (UNI) Flaying the Narendra Modi government's move to hold a two-day monsoon session of the Assembly from Monday, Leader of Opposition Arjun Modhvadia today said it was making ''a mockery of democracy''.

He said he has submitted a notice for no-confidence motion against the government to the Speaker in this regard.

''There were serious issues to discuss in view of the floods that affected most parts of the state. Several members had given notices for discussions on this, but they were not entertained by the Speaker under pressure from the government,'' he said in a statement here.

There is barely any time to take up that no-trust motion, he rued.
