Moderate temblor rocks off west coast of Sumatra

New Delhi, Sep 16: A quake of moderate intensity rocked the west coast of Sumatra region this morning.

Initial reports suggest no loss of life or property, according to the India Meteorological Department.

The temblor, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, hit the region at 1148 hrs with its epicentre at 5.7 degree North Latitude and 94.1 degree East Longitude.
