Mayawati is ''Daulat ki Beti'': IJP

Lucknow, Sep 16 (UNI) Mounting a scathing attack on BSP supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, Indian Justice Party (IJP) today called the self-confessed 'Dalit ki Beti' a 'Daulat ki Beti'.

''The manner in which Ms Mayawati is managing BSP affairs, it is clear that she is least concerned about the interests of Dalits and backwards,'' IJP UP unit chief Kalicharan said addressing a news conference here this afternoon.

He alleged Mayawati was blatantly selling party tickets for the 2007 assembly polls in UP.

"It does not matter if the ticket-seeker is a criminal or a non-political person. The highest bidders are being given BSP tickets," Mr Kalicharan added.

The IJP leader also sought to know the logic behind BSP organising 'Brahmin Sammelans' across the state.

''It is the same party which had coined the slogan of 'Tilak, tarazu aur talwar, unko maro joote chaar' is now trying to woo the upper castes. This shows their commitment towards the emancipation of the marginalised sections,'' he said.

''Ms Mayawati is the biggest manipulator of Dalit votes. She has now become 'Daulat ki Beti' and is befooling the 'bahujan samaj' by proclaiming herself as 'Dalit ki Beti','' the IJP leader said.

Mr Kalicharan -- a former legislator -- also lambasted Samajwadi Party chief and UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for making false promises to the minorities and Dalits.

IJP headed by former bureaucrat Dr Udit Raj also claims to Champion the Dalits' cause.

On September 6, the IJP had announced an understanding with the People's Democratic Front (PDF) to fight the coming UP polls jointly under the umbrella of Jan Morcha of former Prime Minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh.

PDF is a political front chaired by Maulana Abul Irfan Firangi Mahali. Earlier, eminent Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawwab had relinquished the post of PDF chairman. However, he remains with the Front as the chief patron.

Meanwhile, PDF general secetary Nehaluddin announced that a 'Dalit-Muslim Ekta Conference' would be organised here on September 20. ''Our alliance is hopeful of winning about 80 seats in the coming assembly polls,'' he underlined.
