J K Thomas elected UPASI president

Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, Sep 16 (UNI) Mr J K Thomas, Managing director of the Malankara Plantations Ltd, Kerala, was elected as the 114th President for the United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI) at the 113th annual general meeting held here today.

Mr C P Kariappa, a coffee planter from Chikmagalur in Karnataka was elected as Vice-President, a release from UPASI here said.
