Indians lack professionalism; Anupam Kher
Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) Taking a dig at the lack of professionalism in the Bollywood, actor Anupam Kher has said the work culture of Americans is such that they value time and money and even though we work hard we lack professionalism.
Anupam, known for his crossover films like 'Bend it Like Beckham' and Aishwarya Rai starrer 'Bride and Prejudice' said yesterday while talking about his latest film 'American Blend'-- a confluence of cultures between Indians and Americans.
Speaking to mediapersons at his office here, Anupam said, ''The work culture of Americans is such that they value time and money. A contract is a contract, everyone works sincerely and every actor there has passed out from an acting school. Even though we work hard, I feel we lack professionalism.'' ''This is what leads me to start my own acting school 'Actor Prepares','' he added.
''When I passed out from the National School Of Drama (NSD), I was not only trained to act, but also learnt the value for my work.
And this is what I want to impart to my students -- a sense of professionalism and value,'' the actor said.
Commenting on the current trend of remakes he said, ''I have utmost respect for those people who make remakes, but personally I think it is the bankruptcy of ideas and I don't want to make a remake.'' UNI LS MJ HS ND0940
