India to boost oil cooperation with Eurasia, says Deora
New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) Petroleum Minister Murli Deora today said the growing importance of Eurasia in the global energy market would help bring stability in the volatile oil market.
Delivering the keynote address at the Judge Business School of Cambridge University on 'Business Prospects and Geopolitics in Central Eurasia--Indian Perspective', he said India wanted to strengthen cooperation with the Eurasian region.
India was seeking active participation in exploration and production of oil and gas in Eurasia mainly through ONGC Videsh Ltd, he said.
Another initiative focuses transnational pipelines like Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India to bring products from the region.
Promotion of a regime of cross investment in India and Eurasia in hydrocarbon sector is also being planned, the Petroleum Ministry quoted Mr Deora as saying.
India is also offering technical support to Eurasian countries, he added.
