"I had whatever Bibek Moitra gave me" : Rahul Mahajan

New Delhi, Sept 16 (UNI) BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul Mahajan today admitted that he was having ''a glass of sparkling wine'' alongwith Bibek Moitra on the fateful night of June two, when he was taken to a private hospital with symptoms of a drug overdose.

"I think it was sparkling wine .... but not any drugs. I had whatever Bibek gave me", the junior Mahajan said in a detailed interview to a private channel. He also accepted that another accused in the case, Sahil Zaroo, joined him at his late father's official residence on Safdarjung Road around 2130 hrs to 2145 hrs but did not know him in any way. "I had no idea who he was before that," Rahul who now faces cases under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances act, said.

He also denied being close to Bibek and contended that he 'hardly used to meet him'. "It is a wrong impression that we were very close. I used to meet him only when I came to meet dad. Its not that everyday we used to meet," he said.

Asked about his sharing a "different kind of relationship" with his father's personal secretary, the Mahajan junior asked back "What do you mean ? Can you please elaborate.

I am married, I have got a wife. This is ridiculous".

He said he was 'depressed' on the night of June two and was 'feeling low'. He also said that Bibek and him were planning the immersion of Pramod Mahajan's ashes in the Brahmaputra". At that time Sahil Zaroo joined them.

Both Rahul and Bibek were rushed to the hospital. While Bibek died before reaching the hospital, Rahul reached the hospital in an unconscious state.
