Hyd makes it to final in rain marred semis

Hyderabad, Sep 16 (UNI) Hosts Hyderabad entered the final of the All India Moinuddowlah Gold Cup cricket tournament defeating India Cements by virtue of their first innings lead, while the result of the other match between Mumbai and Chemplast could not be decided as the teams could not complete their first innings due to rain. Play was extended to reserve day tomorrow.

After bundling out India Cements for a paltry 116 yesterday, Hyderabad made 81 for the loss of one wicket in the possible 19.3 overs. The match was stopped at 10.45 hrs due to heavy rain and called off at 1200hrs.

Hyderabad was declared winner by virtue of its 146 run lead in the first innings and qualified for the final.

In the other semifinal, Mumbai after making a moderate score of 206 on the first day, hit back as Chemplast slumped to 158 for 5 in 60 overs. Hemang K Badani batting on 70 off 171 balls with six fours and Satish 56 off 105 balls, five fours were the main scorers.

In case the extended play on fourth day (reserve day) is not completed, the result will be decided by spin of the coin as per rules.
