Haryana to give interest free loan to SC students
Chandigarh, Sep 16 (UNI) The Haryana Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare Department has decided to give interest free loan to post-matric and post-graduate students belonging to Scheduled Castes to purchase books and other written materials.
An official spokesman said yesterday the department would give interest free loans of Rs 800, Rs 1500 and Rs 2000 respectively to the students belonging to Scheduled Castes who were doing post-matric, post-graduate and vocational courses.
He said those students who had failed in their last classes and whose parents were gazetted officer or Income Tax payees would not be given the benefit of this scheme. The eligible candidates could send their applications to the office of District Welfare Officer up to September 30.
He said students could get the application form free of cost from the office of District Welfare Officer and Tehsil Welfare Officer.
He also instructed the candidates to attach their permanent residential certificate and caste certificate with the application.
