Govt failed to provide adequate power to farmers: Naidu

Kuppam, Sep 15 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and former Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu said that the Congress government in the state has failed to provide adequate power to the farmers.

Addressing the mediapersons here, Mr Naidu, who made an aerial survey of Palar project, demanded that the government should complete the project immediately.

He said the power situation was deteriorating, crops withered away and suicide rate among the farmers were on the rise in Chittoor district and recently a farmer died of electrocution at Madanapalli here.

He demanded that the government should pay exgratia to the families of the deceased farmers.

The party would support the farmers to start agitation against the wrong polices pursued by the state government, he added.
