CPI(M) holds protest rally against property tax hike
Vijayawada, Sept 16 (UNI) Opposing the Andhra Pradesh Government's decision to increase the property tax in cities and towns, about 100 Communist Party of India (Marxist) activists held a protest rally in the city today.
Later, the party cadres who participated in the rally, burnt the G O copies--466, 467 at the Raghavaiah Park.
CPI (M) State Secretariat member C H Babu Rao who led the dharna, demanded that the state government must scrap the Government Orders immediately.
The party said it would entail a burden of Rs 300-400 crore on the people, particularly the middle and lower classes if the G O was implemented.
