Blind girl, septuagenarian set themselves on fire
New Delhi, Sept 16 (UNI) A 16-year-old blind girl and a eptuagenarian allegedly committed suicide by setting themselves on fire in two separate incidents in the Capital today.
Poonam, who had lost her eyesight about ten years back set herself on fire at Harsh Vihar in the Nand Nagri area of North-East Delhi at about 1130 hrs, according to sources.
The girl's father, a teacher in a government school, and her two other sisters were at school when she poured kerosene and set herself on fire.
No suicide note has been found, said the police.
In the second incident in Vivek Vihar, a retired school teacher replicated the act at his residence at about 1330 hrs.
Vijay Narain (70) was rushed to the G T B Hospital where he died later.
Sources said he was depressed for some time.
