BJP to initiate disciplinary action against dissidents
Gulbarga, Sep 16 (UNI) BJP Karnataka unit President D V Sadananda Gowda today indicated that the party's Central Parliamentary Board might take disciplinary action against those who violated the party discipline, including suspended BJP MLC Janardhana Reddy who levelled Rs 150 crore bribery allegation against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and two of his Cabinet colleagues.
Addressing a press meet here, he said the state BJP leaders would meet the party high command on September 23 to apprise it about the ''indiscipline'' of some party leaders. He had submitted seven reports about the dissidents to the high command, which was expected to take a decision on September 24 or 25, he added.
On the constitution of a commission of inquiry into the mining scam, he admitted that there was no direct mention of the Rs 150 crore bribery charge and assured to write a letter to the Government in this regard.
Mr Gowda made it clear that the 'Sobha Yatra' in Chikmagalur would be taken out in December as usual in a peaceful manner. A coordination committee would be set up to go through all aspects regarding the yatra.
He clarified that a high-level committee would be formed to select candidates for the post of Presidents and Chairmen to various State bodies and corporations. ''Candidates of the backward Hyderabad-Karnataka region will be given preference,'' he assured.
