Amarinder gives clean chit to Minister in City Centre scam

Jalandhar, Sep 16 (UNI) Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh today gave a clean chit to Local Bodies Minister Chaudhary Jagjit Singh in the alleged Ludhiana City Center scam and turned down the demand of his resigination raised by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the BJP.

Talking to reporters at Nadala village in adjoining Kapurthala district, the Chief Minister said, ''The minister has done no wrong in the case and he is not going to ask Mr Chaudhary to tender his resgination''.

He said a vigilance inquiry had already been ordered under the supervision of an IG level officer and the people should wait for the inquiry report.

The Chief minister was in the village to address a public rally organised by the ruling Congress.

State ministers Mr Chaudhary, Pratap Singh Bajwa, Congress Punjab unit President Shamsher Singh Dullo and several others also participated in the rally.
