53 officials suspended in Uttar Pradesh

Siddharthnagar, Sep 16 (UNI) As many as 53 government officials were suspended after irregularities were found in various projects.

Sources said the suspended officials include 24 from Basti, three from Santkabirnagar, and 26 from Siddharthnagar.

After irregularities were discovered in the physical verification report of the current financial year 2006-07, immediate action was ordered against 107 officials and workers, in which 53 of them were suspended.

Bad entry was made in the personal files of 28 officials, departmental inquiry was ordered against 16, while an FIR was launched against 10 others.
