Wipro named one of world's top BPO provider

Bangalore, Sep 15 (UNI) Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited, today announced that it has been recognised among the Top BPO Providers for 2006 by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP).

Wipro Technologies was also recently rated as the top Indian outsourcing firm in the Global Outsourcing 100 rankings, conducted by IAOP. The list included some of the largest IT companies worldwide and Wipro Technologies, the only Indian company in the top ten, had been ranked seventh, a company release here said.

The Top BPO Providers for 2006 was a sub-list of The Global Outsourcing 100 that recognised the world's top BPO service providers globally. This recognition was based on applications received by companies, further evaluated by an independent panel of judges. The award was based on a rigorous evaluation process involving four key criteria -- size and growth, customer experience, depth and breadth of competencies, and management capabilities, the release said.

Wipro BPO, with US Dollar 174 million, contributed to around ten per cent of global IT services revenue in 2005-2006.
