Vigilance Bureau directed to investigate fake insurance claims

Chandigarh, Sept 15 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed Haryana state Vigilance Bureau to conduct investigations into fake insurance claims for accident cases which come up in the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal (MACT).

The bench disposed of the PIL of Rishi Pal Arya in regard to these directions which came after CBI standing counsel Rajan Gupta expressed inability of the agency to take over the investigation for such fake insurance claims cases of accidents pertaining to other Haryana districts due to constraints of infrastructure.

He submitted that the probe ordered by the high court for Ambala had been completed and a chargesheet submitted in the special CBI court at Ambala.
