Transport official denies banning of operations
Hyderabad, Sep 15 (UNI) Kranti Transport which was caught in a controversy when police seized rockets and rocket launchers in several places of Andhra Pradesh purportedly to be delivered to the Maoists today dismissed reports that its operations were banned throughout the country.
Talking to UNI over phone from Vijayawada, the transport company business incharge S F Baig said his company had 425 branches all over the country, but only booking and delivery at Giddalur, Mahabubnagar, Puttaparti and Chennai, were closed.
Mr Baig said since the closed four branches were being run by agents and not the company, they had no responsibility.
It was impossible for any transporter to open every consignment and examine the contents, he added.
