Top juniors for Little Masters sqaush tournament from Sep 19-23

Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) The top juniors of the country will vie for top honours in the Rs 1,81,500 prize money Little Masters junior squash tournament from September 19-23.

The tournament which will be held at the Willingdon Sports Club squash courts is being organised by the Squash and Racquets Federation of India (SRFI) under the aegis of the Squash and Racquets Association of Maharashtra (SRAM). The tournament is being sponsored by SKF India Limited.

This year, which is the 14th year of the tournament, has received a record number of 328 entries and the tourney will be held in age group categories of Boys under-19, under-17, under-15, under-13, under-11 and girls under-19 and under-15, it was announced at a press conference here today. The organisers also informed that there will also be a event like last year for the under-9 boys and girls.

The organisers also stated that this year they have received around 35-40 entries from outside the state with the majority of them being from Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Jaipur.

The winner of the under-19 boys event will stand to gain Rs 30,000, while the runner-up will get Rs 15,000. In the girls section the under-19 winner will get Rs 18,000, while the runner-up will get Rs 9,000.

There will be prize money in all the sections except for the under-9 where the winners as well runners-up will receive trophies, the organisers stated.
