TN Govt hikes DA for staff

Chennai, Sep 15: The Tamil Nadu Government has announced five per cent hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees, teachers and pensioners with effect from July one, 2006.

The government's decision comes close on the heels of the Centre's announcement of DA hike for its employees.

The move would result in an additional expenditure of Rs 497.53 crore per annum, an official release said here last night.
