TDSAT tribunal rejects In Cable plea for free Zee Sports feed

Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) A few multi system cable operators in this metropolis, who had blacked out Zee Sports channel over the subscription fee hike issue, received a setback after the TDSAT tribunal rejected the plea filed by IN Cable seeking restoration of the feed of the channel without signing the subscription agreement.

Zee Sports is currently showing the DLF tri-series between India, Australia and West Indies in Kuala Lumpur live and exclusive after bagging the rights from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Zee Turner, that manages the distribution of the Zee Channels has been in negotiations with the cable operators including In Cable to sign the subscription agreement, but these operators had refused to sign it hoping to get the feed free, the company stated here in the release.

However, in the proceedings before the tribunal today, Zee Turner also offered a bulk discount to In Cable in order to settle the issue which was refused by the cable operator.

The tribunal also did not grant the operator's plea for interim relief, following the refusal of the offer put forth by Zee Turner.

The tribunal will next hear the matter on September 19, by which time if an agreement had not been reached between the two parties, then the tribunal would take a decision, the release added.

However, those operators who have signed an agreement with Zee Turner would get the feed during the rest of the tri-series, the release added.
