Suspected Pak terrorist Sohail remanded to 10 days police custody

Vaododara, Sep 15 (UNI) Aamir Sohail, a suspected Pakistani terrorist, who was nabbed by the RPF at the Vadodara railway station 21 days ago, was today remanded to railway police custody for 10 days for further interrogation.

After remaining under detention for 20 days for his interrogation by the sleuths of the Gujarat state and central intelligence bureaus, Sohail was officially arrested yesterday under the Foreigners Act and the Indian Passport Act.

According to GRP superintendent Anupam Singh Gehlot, the Pak national was brought from the Joint Interrogation Centre at Kutchh to Vadodara this evening to be produced before a railway magistrate's court which remanded him to GRP custody till September 25.

On the night of August 26, the 20-year-old youth was caught by the RPF personnel as soon as he got down from the Amritsar-Mumbai Golden Temple Frontier Maill at Vadodara station to fetch water.

As he was found to be travelling without a ticket and possessing a passport of a Karachi-based Indian lady, he was detained by the FRF and later handed over to the sleuths of the Intelligience Bureau (IB) to find out if he was associated with in any terrorist outfit.

The investigating agencies were still in a quandary as to how Sohail managed to give slips to the security persons at the Wagah and Attari borders and his motive behind boarding the Golden Temple Mail for Mumbai from Delhi where he reportedly picked up the lady's passport. The Pak national is said to be a resident of Rajajung in Kasuri district.
